A nursery
rhyme is a traditional poem or song for children in Britain
and many other countries, but usage of the term only dates from the late 18th/early 19th century.
In North America the
term Mother Goose Rhymes,
introduced in the mid-18th century, is still often used.

Little Boy
Blue

Little
Boy Blue,
Come blow your horn,
The sheep's in the meadow,
The cow's in the corn;
But where is the boy
Who looks after the sheep?
He's under a haystack,
He's fast asleep.
Will you wake him?
No, not I,
For if I do,
He's sure to cry.
